The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because we loved our old grill so much, we gave it away after just a few months because we knew we’d never get back to using gas grills over charcoal any time soon! We have used pellet grills for six years now, but they took some getting used to when switching from gas – since there are no direct flame areas in a pellet grill (unless you want to char some meats), they tend to heat up much faster than other types of grills… which means you really need to watch your meat at all times or else overcook/burn it! One tip: turn OFF the “smart” smoke feature on any pellet smoker before working with meat!! Temperature range is an important factor too, depending especially on what you’re cooking; if you plan on grilling or smoking meats at very high temperatures then choosing pellet smokers with higher BTUs like 12000 will be crucial for you.
